First most memorable music festival - 1000 Islands Music Fest (August 2009)

This certainly wasn’t the first concert I went to, but for being a festival it was definitely my favorite. It had a ridiculously long list of huge performers. Too name a few of my favorites; Simple Plan, Akon, Lights, The New Cities, Faber Drive and Stereos. It was a three day event just outside of Kingston in Gananoque. It was incredible to say the least. I showed up early for the two big days and ended up being front row for both. There were way too many performers to talk about them all, so here’s my two favorite.

My favorite band since I was younger is Simple Plan and they were the headliner for Friday. Even though they had a lot less people than expected they played an incredible show. Being front row was the best thing I could have imagined, I held Pierre Bouvier’s hand, who is the lead singer. It may sound like a completely corny thing, but it was a big deal being such a huge fan. I sang along to all the words and ended the night catching Chuck Comeau’s drumstick.

On Saturday I was still on a high of excitement from the night before. Front row again I was beyond ready to see Akon for the first time. I love Akon and his music, and knew all the words for this show as well. He proved that he is a fantastic performer and knows how to put on a great show. There was something about being in that crowd where he could make everyone have such energy. After everything I could not have imagined a better two days of amazing music from truly talented musicians.

Here's a couple of pictures from the show.
